During the growing season we also sell fresh produce and don't forget the ice cream in the summer months. In the Autumn, we have homemade cider and donuts, pumpkins and fall decor. Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

I sometimes forget this gem. Never again. A lot of different plants and flowers you don't find in the big garden stores, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A young man spent time informing me about a certain hanging basket. I bought 2 and will be back again for more next year.

So I forgot to get gas before heading home from work and I started sputtering out right in front of Green Acres. I managed to turn into the parking lot and coast into a spot. I had to be home asap since I have to get my kids off the bus and I live all the way in Hamlin. I asked the girls inside if I could pay for even just a splash of gas to get me to the gas station down the road. They immediately asked someone and he came right out and said, β€œsure, no problem,” without hesitation. I didn’t catch his name, but he met me all the way in the back of the parking lot because I couldn’t get the car any closer, put more than I needed in the tank and refused to accept any money in return. There’s still kind and generous people in this world and a few of them work at Green Acres Farm & Nursery. I’ll be taking my business there this spring/summer.

Today, I had an exceptional experience at this business. Although I am unfamiliar with gardening, Susan and the other young lady (whose name I unfortunately missed) were incredibly kind and patient with my inquiries. Susan accompanied me on a shopping trip and provided me with invaluable advice and knowledge on selecting the appropriate plants for my planter box. I am deeply grateful for their assistance and the overall positive experience. I will certainly return to this establishment solely based on the kindness and expertise they demonstrated.

So excited that this was our first place for fall festivities! I spent under $50 for a cart full of fun. The pumpkins here are beautiful and affordable, along with the mums!!! Grabbed some apple cider to go. Was hoping they had apple or pumpkin fry cakes but they aren't out yet... looks like we will be making another visit soon!

Love this place and the staff. We continue to have a great experience year after year. Most of our fall decor comes from here. Not only is the selection of pumpkins and decorations excellent but they have those apple cider slushys that my girls are obsessed with. Obviously we'll be visiting again soon!
